Support Your Neighbours – Tohru Nakamura Created during the uncertainty of the Covid pandemic, this film is a quiet celebration of craft, restraint, and solidarity. Working with a minimal crew, we followed Tohru Nakamura in a moment of concentration and clarity — focusing on process rather than spectacle. The camera observes, listens, and allows space for precision, movement, and texture. Cooking becomes a form of expression, almost meditative, turning limitation into creative freedom. The film was developed as part of the “Support Your Neighbours” initiative — a gesture of support for local culture, craftsmanship, and community at a time when distance defined everyday life.
Rather than documenting a dish, the film captures a state of mind.
Light, sound, and rhythm are treated with the same care as ingredients, shaping a visual language that feels intimate and timeless.
